Snow yesterday and guess what... snow today too. A really cold day and night yesterday and more of the same today. Actually it is really coming down this morning. Resorts around town are reporting up to 30cm or so of new snow since last night and right now it is really snowing heavily. It just keeps on coming.

10-15cm more snow is forecast to fall in the Minamiuonuma and Yuzawa region before this evening but after that the forecasts seem to point to things getting calmer with less snow and less wind. We might even get to see the sun tomorrow. While tonight seems set to be another very cold night, it should be getting milder tomorrow and Tuesday when we might see temperatures rise to around +5 degrees in town.

Earlier on strong winds meant that parts of Kagura were closed but they seem to have opened up now with most of Tashiro-Kagura-Mitsumata now open, though the Dragondola connection with Naeba remains closed at the time of writing. At Naeba itself some of the upper runs are closed due to terrible visibility along with the wind.

Other than that resorts around town seem to be open as normal.
