It has been nearly two months since our last report from Yuzawa. Things have heated up since then. Rainy season this year has been mixed - lots of sudden and very strong rain - though not as much as usual - and periods of extremely hot and humid conditions. I'd say that it hasn't quite been as relentlessly hot so far this year. There's still a long way to go though before temperatures start to drop. That usually happens in September and it's often later in that month before we experience really cool conditions.

The big event over summer in Yuzawa is of course the Fuji Rock Festival, held at the base of the Naeba ski resort. This year it is from 26th (Friday) until 28th (Sunday) of this month, so less than two weeks now. Literally hundreds of acts, many of them Japanese, but some of the international headliners this year include...
