Snow and weather reports posted on Saturday 30th May 2020
Sunday 10th April 2016, 6:14am
A very early report this morning as I need to get on the Shinkansen and get myself to Tokyo this morning.
But it's a fairly easy report to make with what looks like will be a fine morning - the sun should be making an early appearance and it should be warming up fairly similarly to how it did yesterday, closing in on 20 degrees.
Tomorrow looks like it should be considerably colder, perhaps even struggling to get above 5 degrees which will be a pretty big contrast with these weekend conditions, and there may even be the chance of a bit of snow falling - especially in higher areas. Would be great to see a bit of fresh snow even if it is shortlived.
For today though, should be fine and sunny.

A very good Sunday morning to you... no Sunday lie in for me as you can tell! It's going to be a busy day ahead for me.
It is keeping cold this morning, rather chilly outside actually, but the sun is out from early on and there's mostly clear blue skies above with just a bit of cloud here and there (including the cloud hat that Mt Yotei is rather fetchingly wearing at the moment).
It should be a fine day though today and keeping on the colder side of things, before the... snow... that might happen later tonight and into tomorrow.
Let's see what I have to report for you in the morning!

Niseko Annupuri plans to be open until Thursday 5th May with the Gondola, Jumbo 1 and Jumbo 4 lifts operating.
Niseko Village is currently closed but plans to be open again for Golden Week from Friday 29th April until Thursday 5th May.
A warm and fine day yesterday and this morning it's more of an overcast and hazy kind of feel, with temperatures once again due to hit the high teens later on. There's more patches appearing now on areas further up the mountains but generally cover still good. Continuing until early May? I'm intrigued how they will manage it...
Interesting forecast for tonight. It should be getting colder than it has been and there's even a bit of snow showing up on the forecast. Possibly even a bit of a dusting down to lower areas. Surely not anything that will make any difference to proceedings but if we could get a few cm up top that would be fantastic. Never tire of seeing fresh snow. The skies are forecast to clear during the day tomorrow with the sun coming back.
There's a special event on over at Usagidaira today at 10:30am including a 'talkshow' with Olympican mogul lady - and Hakuba local - Aiko Uemura. Not sure what to expect but I'll be up there to have a listen.
