After a few days of very warm weather, yesterday evening we had some quite heavy rain - almost like rainy season. This morning things have dried up but it is a cloudy and rather dark day. It is also much cooler than it has been, almost chilly earlier on and a high of around 11 degrees. There are also some fairly strong winds.
Kagura is even reporting snow overnight, though we can't confirm seeing it ourselves. Due to the strong winds Kagura is actually closed for the day so no skiing/snowboarding on offer today.
It should be back open tomorrow as strong winds are not forecast - just cloud. Rain and cloud is forecast for Sunday with better weather lined up for early next week.

Wednesday was a very fine day, though hazy and rather warm. Yesterday things cooled down and this morning --- snow! Yes, new snow on the ground in Shiga Kogen and that will give the few courses remaining open at Yokoteyama and Shibutoge a bit of a topup!
For those of you interested in visiting the region for the scenery and nature rather than the late spring skiing on offer, the 200m moving stairway and top pair lift of the resort are available for non-skiing tourists and take you right up to the top of Yokoteyama -- go on a fine day for some spectacular views.
