Snow and weather reports posted on Saturday 30th May 2020

We've been having some great weather over the last week with many sunny days and temps into the mid teens. Amazingly there is still snow around the village and top to bottom skiing on the mountain. Some areas on the lower slopes though have grassy spots appearing. Most of the surrounding farmland is free of snow and spring planting/sowing is in full swing. There's still a heap of snow up higher on the mountain and I will look to post maybe weekly updates until the mountain fully closes.
I hope everyone has found the updates informative and useful. After one of the biggest snow seasons in the last decade it's been a lot of fun for me to report daily on the amazing amounts of snow we have fall here. Living in one of the snowiest regions in the world certainly has it's challenges but I love it and I look forward to bringing you updates on conditions throughout next winter. Read more ...

Well, this will most likely be our last ski hill report until next season, unless one of the resorts decides to change their minds and open back up... not likely though.
We may still update some Hakuba/mountain information from time to time for all of you Hakuba/mountain lovers.
As for all the skiers and boarders who have been watching our reports all winter, a big THANKS out to you all! We look forward to bringing you the daily Hakuba resort report again next season and hope it will be just as interesting a season as this one... huge dumps of snow in December through mid January, a very strange late January through February with every element you can imagine including rain, winds, warm temps, cold temps. And finally, snowing quite frequently again in March through much of April, 30~50 cm of new snow April 22nd at the top of the resorts!
All in all, a great season of skiing/ boarding with many face shots and powder memories. One last report for you below. In the meantime, until next season, have a great time whatever you are doing this Summer. Maybe even see you up here for some of Hakuba's fantastic summer inter activities like mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, canyoning, hiking, etc... Cheers!
Todays report: not a whole lot of snow left, but not as little as you may imagine, quite substantial in certain areas!

Continue to be cautious of Surfice Springs slides and remember that now more than before we can expect more Slides to the ground and from old week layers around ice layers.
