Good morning and it's a fine morning in Yuzawa. The sun is out, it is nice and bright and comfortably warm - a bit like yesterday, and definitely warmer than the end of last week! Perhaps this week we will see a return to something like normal weather conditions.
As the snow line continue to retreate and snow melt away, the Family Course and Gondola Line at Mitsumata are now officially only "connecting courses" to get to and from the Kagura area.... snow is getting thin on the ground and the courses are narrow, so things are getting more restricted as the days go on.
The official snow depth still says 250cm, but at this stage of the season in particular I think we need to take that with a pinch of salt - there no doubt are places with that much, but there are also patches with no snow! Just to keep in mind!
The following lifts plan to be operating this week (Monday 14th to Friday 18th):
After that little blast of late winter at the end of the week, we are back to warmer conditions now and clearer skies.
Just three lifts remain operating in Shiga Kogen for winter sports - at the Yokoteyama and Shibutoge areas in the south part of Shiga Kogen. Courses are getting narrow as the snow continues it's melt, but it looks like we have at least until the end of the coming weekend - possibly more...
The Yokoteyama resort is saying that they look set to be able to remain open until at least Sunday 20th, and right now beyond that they don't know - will all depend on the weather and snow of course. If there's enough snow, they'll remain open beyond that. Read more ...

This was updated on the Naeba Now page, so thought it might be an idea to refresh the Yuzawa page as well.
After the cold snap of late last week it has warmed up a little the last few days and today has been sunny with just some white clouds up there. A high of around 25C this afternoon and a breeze most of the day, stronger at times during the day.
