It is a fine, bright and sunny morning here at the base of Niseko Grand Hirafu and I can see lots of blue skies around. A bit of cloud, but more blue and it looks set to be a fine day here.
It's keeping pretty chilly and temps were down to just above freezing overnight at base and currently around 2 degrees. Not so much wind this morning so fingers crossed that the lifts will be open as planned for the people who are around to get out and enjoy themselves on the mountain.
Chance of some sleet and perhaps snow tonight and into tomorrow morning.

Another sea of cloud above the village earlier which has now disappeared and we are left with a clear morning if a little hazy.

Wow - another dusting of snow overnight has transformed the village back into a mid winter scene again, with gardens and trees blanketed in a thin layer of white that is contrasting with the greens of spring that are trying to come through.
It is looking like another sunny day ahead and a great day to be on the mountain with a few centimetres of fresh snow to play in. Read more ...
