Clear and sunny
Temperatures have been quite changeable this last week, but it has generally been chilly in the evenings and early mornings but nice and comfortable during the day. I have only had the heater on once or twice for a short time, so that's an indication of how things have been.
Another sprinkling of snow was visible on the top of the higher peaks including Kagura early yesterday morning, but conditions cleared up and it turned into a fine day - and it is more of the same this morning. Right now the sun is out, we have lovely blue skies and a temperature of around 14 degrees in town.
In the coming week it looks like weather conditions will be quite settled with lots of clear weather, sun and temperatures similar to today. Perhaps some rain on Sunday into Monday but other than that it should be lovely autumn conditions all the way.
Less than a month to go before Kagura plans to open up for the snow season - they usually can with the help of artificial snow up there if needed. Kagura plans to open on 23rd November. Read more ...

As predicted, this week saw more snow fall on Mount Youtei and Annupuri midweek as temperatures dropped and the freezing level dipped below 1000 metres.

We may see a reappearance of the snow up top tonight as temperatures expected to fall below zero but nothing more is looking likely through the middle of next week with a gradual rise in temperatures as we head towards next weekend. Read more ...
