Rainy season has hit and Minakami is getting its fair share of rain with fairly warm temperatures producing muggy conditions. The upside of the rain is that a lot of the creeks and canyons have remained high which is great for creek boating or canyoning.
The Tone River's dam release appears to have finished for the season with the main section now down to grade 2.
All of Minakami's hiking courses are now open, including the Mt. Tanigawa ridge hike and the Ichinokura galcier hike. The local mountainbike tracks are all open with some fun ridding to be had in the mud! Read more ...
