Weather conditions: Snow
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
15cm+ of fresh powder fell overnight, and snow conditions are light and fluffy this morning. There was little wind overnight, so the snow has fallen straight - rather than wind blown. As a result, there is a good even spread of powder all over the mountain.

Big flakes continue to come down at present, making visibility a little poor. Air temperature is currently moderate, however, a strong North-westerly wind is expected to hit Niseko sometime after lunch today.   Read more ...

Hakuba Now!

Saturday 3rd January 2004, 15:29pm
Weather conditions: A little foggy
New snowfall: --
Snow depth: --
Relatively mild temperatures are persisting here, so the snow is heavy lower down and in so-so condition higher up. Snow depths at the resorts range from 180cm down to 60cm or so near the base, meaning that some of the lower offpiste runs remain in less than ideal condition.

As expected, the final Saturday of the holiday period has brought out a lot of people. A sunny day is forecast for tomorrow, which should keep the numbers up. More snow is expected to arrive on Tuesday/Wednesday.   Read more ...
