Sun, blue sky
Yesterday after the fine start it did quickly become very cloudy and remained so all day with a few spots of rain at times as well.
This morning is as the forecast said it would be - it looks like it will be a fine and sunny day. The sun is out early on and not much cloud around, rather lots of blue sky. Already 10 degrees and a probable high of around 19 degrees.
Tomorrow looks set to be more of the same, with cloud lined up for Saturday.
Blue bird today in Hakuba and an epic late season day to ride on or off piste. Clear skies and warm temperatures today will make for great sliding out on the slopes. Wear sunscreen and make some slushy turns out there. 3 days left for skiers to enjoy the last of the resorts, then it will be hiking for turns off-piste.

People heading backcountry today should be prepared for stronger winds on ridges and colder temps, even though it is sunny and warm in the valley. Take care on descents as exposed patches are prevalent.
Keep in mind, that even though Spring has arrived down here in the valley, it can still be very much like Winter above 1,600m a.s.l., dress and equipe yourself appropriately.
Watch out for big cracks and holes, loose debris on the snow and falling from upper cliffs. Shallow snowpack can slide on the bamboo and will release over rocks and points of tension. Read more ...
