Clear lower down, snow higher up
Well, we have just received our third real snow on the mountains last night and everyday it gets a little cooler here in the valley. The beautiful fall leaves are falling fast and we can expect that snow on the mountains to start falling in about 10 more days and sticking some where around 2 weeks from now. If this nasty precipitation keeps up as the temperature drops we should have a very merry white Christmas here in the Hakuba North Alps. There will be quite a few different Christmas events going on in Hakuba for those who want to get out of city for a special holiday in the mountains with friends or family. Things like the annual Christmas Snowshoe Treasure Hunt, Hakuba (898) Santa Claus Christmas Evening event at the Hakuba Ski Jump Stadium, live bands and DJ's, Christmas Carolling at Hakuba Mominoki Hotel and St. Hakuba Chapel, along with many other fun activities and of course don't forget about the world class skiing and snowboarding to be found in Hakuba!
Early Pass Info:
Goryu/Hakuba 47 are now selling early bird passes for 55,000 yen until the end of November. Tsugaike Kogen is selling their early bird pass for 30,000 yen until December 20th. Great price! It goes up to 50,000 yen after the 20th. Cortina Kokusai does not have any early season price and is 35,000 yen for a season pass. There are rumours of Happo One also selling a seasons pass this year which would be a first for them; go figure. I don't know the price right now but will find this out.
