It has been mixed weather over the last week or so here - but one thing is for sure... it's getting warmer and there are times when it feels rather humid. That will of course only increase over the coming weeks as rainy season approaches.
Today it was raining earlier and there was some thunder as well. It had dried up but there has just been another clap of thunder and rain is forecast for this afternoon, through tonight and into tomorrow. It was already around 20 early this morning and while it has been a bit humid the top temperature is just maybe 24 degres this afternoon. Clear and sunny followed by thunderstorms and rain
After a long period of hot sunny days the rain has finally hit Minakami in style with thunderstorms currently rumbling through the valley. It looks like the same pattern will continue for the next few days; hot morning to mid-afternoon followed by a storm late afternoon.
The Tone River is still flowing at good levels which is keeping all of the rafters and kayakers happy but the water will most likley only last for another 3 weeks at best, before the grade 1-2 season starts. Read more ...
