5th beautiful day in a row. The sky is blue, no wind to speak of and the slopes are a lot less crowded today as they were over the last 3 days during the Golden Week.
Well the big word on the street is that this weekend may not be the last of the lift servicing to all this great end-of-season snow. Hakuba 47 is planning to open up for weekends as long as they have snow on the courses. Happo will re-open their Gondola, Alpen quad Grat quad from the 15th of may, and Tsugaike will re-open their Gondola and Ropeway from the 20th of May. Looks like we will be enjoying lift-accessed spring touring and some resort skiing for a while to come so don't put away those boards and planks to quickly.

Unfortunately it looks like that last day will be a rainy one for the most part with rain forecast for most of the day and also a good chance of some fairly strong winds. Read more ...
