And so begins the second day of Hakuba's green season, with amazing clear blue skies and yet another fresh scattering of sakura blossoms. It's a warm way to start the week (already 15C) and temps are expected to pass 20C by the afternoon. Perfect weather for hitting the lake in a canoe, taking the bike out for a ride or even going on a hike.
For those of you still interested in hitting the snow, things should be soft and slushy - just the way we like it here in the Spring. However, be prepared to hike up as currently gondolas at Happo One and Tsugaike are both closed until May 15 and 19 respectively.
Hakuba 47's gondola is closed today until the weekend, although we've been told some of the more determined are still making their way up - probably on the Goryu gondola which is open for sight-seeing.
*AVALANCHE DANGER remains MODERATE*

Continue to use good route finding skills and common sense while touring to all those lines you have been scoping all season. Read more ...

Things should cool down a bit in the next few days, with a bit of rain forecast with the clouds that will probably move in. Read more ...
