Chuo Taxi – from Narita, Haneda and Nagoya Airport to Hakuba and the Bears Den Mountain Lodge.
It is the easiest way of getting from the airport to Hakuba, perfect if you are arriving late and want to wake up in Hakuba ready for the days adventure. Travel time is 6Hrs, luggage per person 1 x suitcase and 1 x carry on, a ¥1000 surcharge for snowboard/ski bag. Price ¥13,900. Book online 6 days prior to travel.
From Narita, the Nagano Snow Shuttle will take you from Narita Airport directly to Hakuba for ¥8,500 per adult, ¥6,375 for children between the ages of 5 to 12, and free for children 4 and under with no seat assignment. Departure from Narita twice daily 9:45am and 20:00pm, travel time is 5 ½-6hrs.
From Narita, the Highland Express Direct Bus Service (Alpico Bus Group) will take you from Narita Airport directly to Hakuba. Adults ¥9,000, children 6 to 12yrs ¥6,500, children 5yrs and under free if they have no seat assignment, this bus departs Narita at 8:25am, travel time is 5 ½-6hrs.
From Tokyo, Shinjuku Station to Hakuba, Highland Express also has a bus route.
By Train to Hakuba:
By train to Hakuba from anywhere in Japan please check either Jorudan or Hyperdiatrain route finder for timetables and travel duration. There is the local train to Hakuba/Kamishiro Station or the faster Bullet train (Shinkansen) to Nagano station.
From Nagano Station: you need to transfer to the bus (there is no train between Nagano and Hakuba).
To get to the bus stop at Nagano station, take the East exit, it is Bus Stop #6 at the end of the rank, adult fare is ¥1700, travel time 1hr.
There are a few courier services available at Narita/Haneda airports one is called Yamato Express, You can send on your luggage/skis for a small fee. Generally around ¥1750 per bag will get your luggage to Hakuba. This service is widely used, it is reliable and efficient.
