Naeba review by ddo
Finally after the avalanche on the 3rd and two days of few lifts and big queues they got it together (way too slowly) and opened a gondola.

My fifth time at Naeba and for the fifth time the top of the mountain was closed (no discounts) but finally I got to see it's potential.

If you strike the right day this mountain could offer some primo runs and could score five stars

Okutadami Maruyama review by samu
Being a beginner, I can't really give a full run down on the place, but I had a great time.

It was pretty quiet when I went (a Monday) and we had the slopes to ourselves mostly. Best thing was that after the first time on the lifts they didn't check / ask for passes so it was dirt cheap

Naeba review by squealpiggy
This area rocks my clock as it has fast lifts servicing plenty of high country terrain with more powder than I knew what to do with. Skiing fall-lines under lifts & through the trees is not allowed but winked at & everybody who wants to has crack at it.

Accomodation available on-site at Wadagoya is an adventure for those who do not want to lose a minute on the boards.

The scenic 'dragondola' ropeway connects to Naeba in 15 minutes;

Kandatsu Kogen review by naganodave
Kandatsu is one of my favorite places outside of my local Nagano area. I only discovered it last season (hadn't even heard of it before reading about the changes on here), but glad I did.

It's biggest selling point is a good selection of steepish runs and them all being arranged in a fairly compact area. I'm really into steeps so this is just fine by me :)

It's also in a natural "bowl" and so it seems to

Naeba review by Mark
This comment is for 22.12.06. My first time at Naeba, which was rather bad experience. To be fair, I cannot blame resort for all that, the snow conditions were just very poor.

As for Friday, and generally poor snow conditions, the resort was quite crowded. I can imagine crowds on good snow weekends.

Even with this crowd, most lifts (I really mean most) closed @ 3pm!

Why cannot they open the top, where snow is probably best?!

The runs are potentially good, if there

Kagura review by number9
Not much to add to the Pros and Cons.

It can get quite busy as it's relatively accessible from Tokyo.

But again, great off piste, policy, snow conditions (relative to other resorts in the area), nice view, and close to Tokyo (which is both a pro and a con)

Many places to stay nearby with nice onsens.

The resort offers a good variety of runs for various levels of riders, so it's a good place to go with a group of friends with different aptitudes.

Resort's also connected to Kagura, and that's a huge plus. Arrive in the morning, spend the day in Naeba, wake up early next morning and get to the Dragondola early to enjoy Tashiro and Kagura.

That's a good 2 day course with lots of
