What a wonderful first day experience of snow in Japan. It was my first time since coming here and my Japanese friends took me to Happo in Hakuba, Nagano.

What a big place! And what a place it is! So many runs, the snow was just superb, and the runs were not busy at all. I don't think I had to wait for a lift for more than a few seconds all day.

It was a great introduction

Transportation from Narita airport was pretty smooth.

Slopes were powdery and wide. Definitely a resort that I will go to again and I hope that the wind will be less strong next time.

I stayed at the La Neige hotel and the service was superb. There was however hardly any restaurants (apart from the hotel ones) or pubs within walking distance.
