I just read user 'spired's small review on Naeba and must say that I disagree very much.
I find the resort to be really good - lots of choice of runs, really good snow when I was there. And the Gondola, rather than being "silly" is fantastic - take you over to Tashiro area and Kagura which is another of my favorite places.
aeba can be busy - but just avoid those days. If you do, I think
After a day at Kagura, Sunday was for Naeba and Tashiro. Naeba was predictably quite busy, so we got onto the Dragondola for the journey over to Tashiro.
I'm not fully decided on Tashiro. The snow is usually superb - and it was that day - but there are too many long gentle runs for my taste. It always seems a trek there and back, and usually end up at Kagura anyway.
Actually I want to write a review for Asagai which is a snowboarding fun-park 5 mins.from Naeba.
Asagai has just one run (occasionally a second is opened on busy weekends-holidays etc.) however there are plenty of things to keep you entertained. There are half a dozen jumps ranging from small to huge and very scary. They have a quarter-pipe,a couple of rails, a box and the best half-pipe I have seen in Japan.
