Niseko Grand Hirafu review by addiction
The only negatives about Hirafu for me where:

a) getting there was not the easiest

b) lack of decent park

But the powder was excellent, awesome place.

Glad I went and I'm sure to be going back there again next season

Naeba review by addiction
Good place this. I had heard lots of horror stories about the resort being too busy and queueus, but we went midweek and it wasn't busy at all. We didn't wait once all day for a lift.

The snow was good, lots of varied runs, loads to choose from.

The only downer was the Naeba Prince, we were VERY disappointed. Their charges are way too much for the standard of place it is

Okutadami Maruyama review by addiction
As you might know, this place is only open in Dec and early Jan, closes until mid March and then opens again for mid March until May.

We went last week and the snow was decent for the time of year, but it's a small resort and wasn't worth the journey we had to actually get there

Nozawa Onsen review by Brad Moore
I would have to say that Nozawa-Onsen is a great place to Ski. Not only is it a good course but you can say you were on Olympic slopes.

I went in April and we had fresh snow the first day which made for great boarding. By the end of the second day the slopes were still good with some slush at the base.

There are plenty of easy runs that will support a beginner very well. But going

Long runs.

Good snow.

Good selection for all levels.

Good places to stay at the bottom Myoko.

Near the other Myoko resorts.

Near Nagano City (kind of!).

Go there!

Naeba review (submitted before 2003)
Not bad. However what killed the day for me was the traffice jams - I'm afraid never again.

Good lifts and good selection runs. The snow was great.

Even the food wasn't bad on the mountian - more choices then the old "curry and rice"

GALA Yuzawa review (submitted before 2003)
As there are some lift tickets for this place up for grabs, thought I'd write about GALA.

No resort is much fun when it's overly busy. GALA is no exception to this. The runs at GALA not being the widest to start off with doesn't help.

So the trick with GALA is to go on a weekday whenever you can. If you can, you're in for a good day. GALA is high up and so the snow is invariably good.

Yuzawa Park

Yuzawa Park review (submitted before 2003)
This place was one of the first that allowed snowboarders, and when all the others didn't it got real popular with the boarding crowd. Now that almost everywhere lets boarders on the hills, this place is often deserted.

A small resort with about 6 lifts, it's pleasant enough. Probably best suited to families and beginners.

Near Iwappara in Yuzawa town.
