Ikenotaira Onsen review by timo
Having been to Suginohara and Akakura several times, I was curious to check out the least hyped resort in Myoko Kogen.

As it turns out, Ikenotaira is a very decent, quiet alternative to the other two.

The main, central run is good quality with plenty of untouched fields of powder nearby. We had most fun, however, on the far left of the mountain where there were no crowds, no ropes and plenty of scope for in the woods, under the lifts action.

A few criticisms are that most of the lifts are ancient and slow and also that none of the runs are really that steep or challenging. Nevertheless, I defo prefer it Akakura, although it’s still not nearly as good as Suginohara...

Things I liked: No crowds, decent variety of runs, nice spots of powder
Things I didn't like: Poor lift system, quite short runs
