Makado Onsen review by Jetnfast
I took my wife skiing for the first time today and the conditions were mainly good for both skiing and snowboarding.

The POSITIVE: It was not crowded at all for a weekday. The runs were very wide open and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Also, the poswder was EXCELLENT, it was absolutely perfect snow!

THE BAD: The conditions were a little windy at first with blowing snow, with off and on poor visibility. At one point the visibility cleared up and you could see Mutsu bay! Also the lifts are low to the ground so when you get on them, it can be a little tricky for beginners. At one point my wife lost her ski, but the staff was very friendly and helpful stopping the lift and loading the ski on the next chair to meet us at the top.

OVERALL: A great place to spend half a day skiing or snowboarding for little money. I did both today, and the snow was awesome for boarding and skiing. Also, its close to Misawa AB, just about an hour, so you dont have to take a full day on the weekend to enjoy the mountain (or hill!).

Have fun!
Date visited: From 16 February, 2009
Snow condition on visit: Pure powder, really great snow today!
Things I liked: Nice Powdery conditions, not crowded at all!
Things I didn't like: Lifts are tough to get on and off at times
