Blizzard day at Suginohara
I visited Suginohara on the first day of February at the end of a weekend of heavy snow. The previous 3 days had gotten snow and the day I visited was no different.

The right hand side of the map is serviced by a gondola and a couple pair lifts which means doing laps can get a bit slow around late morning when many people arrive from further afield and start queuing for the gondola. Luckily the staff are pretty good at filling gaps and making sure it's moving smoothly.

The other side of the mountain goes a little higher up and has 2 high speed hooded quads. These are handy as it can get pretty gusty on windier days.

The top area has some great snow and access to some in-bounds tree skiing. I'm not sure how strict ski patrol is but there were a lot of strongly worded signs. That said, there were plenty of people under the lifts and in the trees and I didn't once see a patrol.

A little bit lower down on that side is the park. It's pretty big and well stocked. There was a little too much snow when I visited so several pieces were closed. Still, there were quite a few boarders enjoying what was available.

All in all it was a pretty good resort. Not the biggest but with enough to keep most different people happy. I recommend heading to the top on a good day to make the most of the fresh snow and tree lines.
