We have chosen this resort because it is the closest from the highway exit and we did not feel like to spend another 30min to 1h going through small windy snowy roads due to the age of our kids and the 3-4 h ride from Fukuoka has already taken some toll. Heavy snowfall was already on the highway and I had to put on snow chains just to make it to the exit. Going 40-60km/h due to low visibility was something I was not expecting.
The resort is very nice with hotel and onsen ( hot bath) just at the bottom of it with car park as we'll conveniently placed near by. You will find a nice runs from long going all the way from the top to bottom where you can choose to ride on a combination of black, red and blue runs. The quality of snow is amazing if you lucky to get fresh powder and it is hard to get enough of. Small kids park is on the bottom as well. with a hill for beginners. perfect for sliding and first steps or turns on snow. I spend most time with my kids there. Although it can get busy it is still doable. Waiting on the lifts was very acceptable at any time.
Facility as you would expect there is Rental store, Restaurants, Souvenir and general store all good enough and very much Japanese standard - nothing too exciting but good enough. Hotel is as well very nice with decent restaurant and facilities. Hot bath indoor and outdoor was my favorite.
We have been happy to play with the snow near the car park and build snow man as simply having fun. Flying a drone capturing the lovely snow covered mountains was something that added to my enjoyment.
As well few km on the main road is a small pond where you can catch and eat fresh fish. It was a blast and I can not wait to go there again to relive the experience.
To sum up - check snow condition before you go and when it starts snowing take your chance and go there you won't be disappointed.
