The resort as a whole was great and I stayed at a hotel near the lifts so that was cool too. There are some good long runs, but as it has been mentioned repeatedly, there are way too many bad connections. Unless you prefer skating over riding, boarders will get annoyed by the end of the day.
Getting to the top of the mountain is a bit of a pain, but once you get there the snow is good. It's cold and windy, but if it's a clear day (highly unlikely) then the view is great. If its a "normal" Zao day, the visibility is poor so make sure you have some good goggles. I noticed some people were on the verge of going off the side.
This place is ok, but hardly worth the long trip up to Yamagata.
From 20 February, 2003
Snow condition on visit:
Powder then Slush
Things I liked:
Good beginner and intermediate runs, good food, nice views while riding
