Akakura Onsen review
I've been to Akakura a few times and on the whole I've had some really good times.

The old adage that any resort is good if there's enough snow is particularly true about this place as each time I've been here when it hasnt been snowing or hasnt dumped have been pretty lame.

I'd defo recommend it for beginners though as none of the runs are that steep. And if you're looking for good pow runs head on

Barely seems to get a mention with the other resorts in Hakuba but if like me you wanna ride in powder all day - forget everywhere else & come here.

An absolute gem of a resort with an endless variety of drop-in spots around the main resort bowl.

Only bummer is the patrol - they are ever present and seem to be out to bust people 24/7.

So long as you mix up where you ride, the deep stuff is there

Having been to Suginohara and Akakura several times, I was curious to check out the least hyped resort in Myoko Kogen.

As it turns out, Ikenotaira is a very decent, quiet alternative to the other two.
