Seymour didn't have a good opening weekend. A staff member was hit by a piston bully so they closed the WHOLE mountain. Rumour has it she broke her femur. Only other resort open was Ichirino so they were packed BUT the gondola wasn`t running. Only 1 lift was working so they let everyone use it for free.
Things improved later in the season but the staff were not prepared for the heavy snowfall and the avalanche conditions this presented. Top
Living close to the Hakusan ski areas this is one of my favourite places to visit.
The beginners run down to the car park can get really icey and be no fun at all. However, if you`re confident enough, you can cut under the lifts and enjoy great powder while zipping in and out of trees.
A surpsisingly good course for something so close to Kanazawa and the sea. this year the snow lasted well until the end of March. Of course it is in Ishikawa - the precipitation belt of Japan.
I would have to disagree with Gillian though that it is a bad place to learn. I learnt there and was an incredibly slow learner but still found the course an excellent level. However there is something for everyone.
About 20km from Kanazawa IC, this resort offers a surprisingly large choice in runs and often has good snow. The resort is still skier only - sorry boarding-dudes - and is really well suited to intermediate skiers.....lots of choice there for you.
Beginners will not be too happy at this resort, so stay away or if you do go - stay at the bottom. For those within easy reach, check it out!
