Aomori Spring Ski Resort is located on the northern slopes of Mt Iwaki in Ajigasawa town in the western region of Aomori Prefecture.
This ski resort originally opened in 1989 and was known as Ajigasawa. The name was subsequently changed to Naqua Shirakami Ski Resort for the 2008-2009 winter season. It has been known by the current Aomori Spring Ski Resort name since December 2015 and there is a golf course by the base area. The Aspen Pair ski lift operates during events.
Aomori Prefecture is the northernmost prefecture on the main island of Honshu and borders Akita Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture to the south. Hokkaido is to the north across the Tsugaru Strait. There are a number of ski hills located across Aomori Prefecture, mostly small in scale. The capital, Aomori city, is located in the central area by the shores of Mutsu Bay and to the north of the Hakkoda mountains.
