Hoshino Resort Urabandai Nekoma
- often known as simply Urabandai Nekoma - is located on the north-western slopes of Mt Bandai in Kita Shiobara village, Fukushima Prefecture. In winter the Gold Line toll road connecting this area of Kita Shiobara village with Bandai town is closed and so the roads going round the east side of the mountain need to be used. The upper part of the Alts Bandai
resort is actually rather close to the upper part of Alts Bandai on the other side of the mountain, but they are not lift or course connected. However they are owned by the same company and a joint lift ticket and shuttle bus service between the two is available.
Hoshino Resort Urabandai Nekoma is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 16th January and 28th February 2019. Otherwise, open daily.
Fukushima Prefecture is composed of three main regions - the Hamadori region to the east (including the Pacific Ocean coastline), the Nakadori region (the central area) and the Aizu region (the Western mountainous region). Many of the ski and snowboard resorts in the prefecture are found on or near Mt Bandai and Mt Adatara to the north of Lake Inawashiro. Most of the others can be found scattered across the western region of the Aizu region or to the south-west of Lake Inawashiro.
