St.MARY is a ski area located in Kawasaki Town in the southwestern region of Miyagi Prefecture.
The full official name is Miyagi Zao St.MARY.
The courses of St.MARY are on the eastern foothills of Mt Gando. The ski area's base is on one side of the Yamagata Expressway road, but most ski courses are on the other. The ski lifts and courses go over and under the expressway at two points near the base.
There is one quad lift and four pair lifts at this ski area, and the longest run is 2,200m.
St.MARY enjoys easy access from the Miyagi and Yamagata regions via the Yamagata Expressway (Sasaya IC exit) and Route 286.
Since 2018, the 557m Starlight pair lift and Starlight course have been open for summer skiing on plastic mats. (Usually open weekends and holidays from summer through November).
In January 2024, it was announced that this ski area will be closing at the end of the 2023-2024 winter season. Reasons given were the decline in the number of skiers and the effects of warmer winters.
There is a Snow Park area near the base in the central area of St.MARY.
Kids Land is at the base of the ski area and features sledging and tubing and other playing in the snow activities. There is a 500 yen entry charge. People with a valid ski lift ticket and children under 3 years enter for free.
Ski and snowboard lessons are available at St.MARY.
Ski and snowboard equipment & wear rental is available.
