Fujimi Kogen is located on the south-western slopes of Mt Nishidake in Fujimi town in the eastern region of Nagano Prefecture. This ski hill boasts one of the largest Kids Parks in Nagano Prefecture.
During the daytime, Fujimi Kogen is a skiers-only resort. Come evening time though, snowboarding vampires can also join in the fun as snowboarding is actually allowed during nighta. Interesting policy and probably unique amongst Japanese ski resorts.
Nagano Prefecture is located in the Chubu region of the main island of Honshu. Most of the Northern Alps, Central Alps and Southern Alps are located within Nagano (along with neighbouring prefectures). Nagano has the second highest number of ski and snowboard resorts in all of Japan and they are spread around the whole prefecture. Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
The large 'Kids Land' area is near base and features a sledging area, snow strider (bikes) area. And an 'animal theme park'. On weekends, you can dance with the ski resort mascot characters - there's a few of them and there are also real alpacas... still unconfirmed where they go on weekdays!
We kid you not.
Entry to Snow Land costs 1,100 yen (or free if you are under 3 or over 65).
There are no special snow park facilities. Note that snowboarding is only allowed during nighta operations at this ski hill.
