Rewild Ninja Snow Highland is located on the western side of Mt Azumaya in the northern region of Nagano Prefecture.
Sugadaira Kogen is close by. This ski area used to be called Minenohara Kogen.
In April 2018, it looked like Minenohara Kogen was not going to open for the 2018-2019 season. There was encouraging news in August 2018 about a company taking it over with a chance of opening for 2018-2019... and eventually that did happen. Unfortunately, the powerful typhoon in October 2019 caused damage that needed fixing up and in mid-November 2019 the ski area regretfully announced that it would not be able to open for the 2019-2020 season.
For the 2020-2021 season this ski area has another change of name to... REWILD 'NINJA' SNOW HIGHLAND! Looks like there is going to be a 'ninja concept' going on. Apparently, two lifts will be operating for the season - the Brown lift and Blue lift.

Nagano city and many of the major ski resorts are located in the northern region.
