Ski Jam Katsuyamais one of the largest ski and snowboard resorts in the western region of Japan. With a good selection of courses for beginners as well as more advanced skiers and snowboarders, Ski Jam is a popular choice for people living in the Kansai region and you can be at the resort in just over three hours from Osaka.


The resort has a modern lift system as well as a variety of courses, including some 'powder areas', a snow park for beginners and intermediates and a special kids area. The base area also features an indoor swimming pool as well as indoor and outdoor onsen hot springs - perfect to relax in after a day on the slopes.

The Bi Kids Park area is a safe place for young ones to play in the snow. There are separate simple boarding area, skiing area and sledging areas with a 51m 'moving belt' servicing the area. Entry to the area is 500 yen for half a day and 900 yen for a full day.

Snow Park Jam is a park area for beginners and intermediates.

The Snowland area of Ski Jam Katsuyama features a fun banana-boat ride (about 3 minutes, charge 500 yen) as well as longer banana boat tours (about 25 minutes, charge 1500 yen).


Ski & snowboard lessons

The Jam Pro Ski School and Burton Snowboard School at the resort offer skiing and snowboarding lessons for every level of rider from beginners to people wanting to brush up on technique.

Pool & Spa

At base you can relax in the onsen hot springs and also enjoy the indoor heated pool. The 'onsen' features both an indoor and outdoor area as well as a sauna and jacuzzi. It is open from 12pm until 7pm and costs 820 yen for adults and 520 yen for children (4-12 year olds). Towels are available to rent for 100 yen.The heated indoor pool is open 12pm until 7pm and costs 820 yen for adults and 520 yen for children (4-12 year olds). Swim wear is available to rent for 500 yen (adults) and 300 yen (children).

The Kids Debut ticket is valid on the Variety lift and Family lift (weekends) and also includes entry to the B Kids Park.

A 500 yen returnable deposit is required when purchasing lift tickets.

Getting to Ski Jam Katsuyama

By train and bus

Ski Jam Katsuyama is a 60 minute bus ride from Fukui Station.
Fukui Station is about 110 minutes from Osaka Station and 130 minutes from Nagoya Station.
For example, you can leave Osaka a 7:00am and be at Ski Jam Katsuyama by 10:15am.
The bus leaves Fukui Station at 7:50am and 9:15am and operates from 23rd December 2016 until 26th March 2017. Special 'lift ticket and bus' prices are available.

By car

Ski Jam Katsuyama is located to the east of Katsuyama city, which in turn is to the east of Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture. The car parks at Ski Jam Katsuyama are open 24 hours a day.

Parking costs 1,300 yen per day for cars and includes the necessary toll road charge.
