Togari Onsen is a ski area on the south-eastern slopes of Hotokegamine in Iiyama city, in the north-eastern region of Nagano Prefecture.
Togari Onsen traditionally has two bases, Pegasus and Orion, connected by lower runs and the main top area known as Tondaira.
In 2021 the base Orion lift was closed, and the area was re-named Snow Vacance Village. It is now used for various snow-related activities.
Four ski lifts are currently operating at Togari Onsen. There are two quad lifts in the Pegasus area (1037m and 1221m) and two lifts in Tondaira (a 747m quad and a 427m pair). The Uma-no-se pair lift remains on the course map graphic, but it will not be operating.
In recent years Togari has introduced some ungroomed runs and tree run courses in the Pegasus area, along with a snow bike (bicycle) park area.
There ski area plans to be open for night skiing on 5 days during the 2024-2025 season (see dates below).
Togari Onsen is west of Nozawa Onsen, on the opposite side of the river and main Route 117 road. Togari Onsen is generally not as busy as Nozawa.
Togari Onsen opened in 1956.
There are a few park areas on the slopes of Togari Onsen.
Togari offers various 'snow bicycle' activities, usually on weekends and holidays.
The Kids Area is near the Pegasus base and entry is free. Free helmets for children are also available. It is normally open from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
There is also a slope for beginners.
Ski and snowboard lessons are available at Togari Onsen.
