Sannokura is a ski area located in Kitakata City in the north western region of Fukushima Prefecture, close to the border with Yamagata Prefecture. It is about 20 minutes drive from the city centre.
Sannokura has two pair lifts, and the primarily gentle south-facing slopes overlook the Aizu plains.
It humorously claims that it is one of Japan's quietest (least busy) ski areas.
Sannokura is the only ski area in Kitakata City and the most northerly in Fukushima Prefecture.
There is a small Snow Park area near the base of the Number 2 lift.
There is a small sledging area near the base of the Number 2 lift.
Ski and snowboard lessons are available at Sannokura.
Ski and snowboard equipment and wear rental is available.

Sannokura is normally open from 9:00am until 4:30pm in the daytime.
Night skiing is from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on certain days in the season.
On most weekdays in the second half of February and in March, the ski area is only open for night skiing.
The upper Number 2 lift operates for night skiing.
